The role you'll contribute: The Licensed Vocational Nurse, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, will perform a variety of specific patient care activities and will be responsible to provide quality patient care as delineated by the Vocational Nurse Act issued by the Texas Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners. The Licensed Vocational Nurse will adhere to and follow the goals, philosophy, standards, policies, and guidelines of the Texas Health Huguley.

• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.

• Delegates tasks appropriately to unlicensed personnel.
• Participates in unit quality improvement activities and provides input on policy/procedure changes.
• Supervises other healthcare team members in the clinical environment and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
• Promotes a safe environment, takes appropriate action in emergency situations, and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and policies. Participates in education and discharge planning using established education materials.

Qualifications

The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed:

• Technical/Vocational School Required
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of Texas, or in a qualifying compact state Required
• BLS Certification
