LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT - Pediatric Neurology Clinic

At SSM Health Outpatient Center, we are seeking dedicated individuals to provide exceptional care to our pediatric patients. In this role, you will work under the guidance of a registered nurse or physician, making a significant impact on our patients' health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the assessment of patients and ensure their comfort and safety.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Conduct laboratory tests and provide therapeutic services as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, self-care after discharge, and available resources for follow-up care.
• Document patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, and discharge instructions as guided by the provider.
• Transcribe patient orders, ensuring thorough completion of patient charts for accurate treatment decisions.
• Engage in clear communication with patients, families, and health care providers regarding care and progress.
• Maintain a state of alertness and prioritize safety in all actions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program or equivalent education for licensure.

Experience:

• Open to candidates with no prior experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Consistent use of speech and hearing for effective communication.
• Frequent standing, walking, and ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Occasional lifting of heavier objects, moving of patients, and physical activities such as bending and squatting.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential from either the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or Nurse Licensure in a Compact State.

This is a full-time position, with day shifts available.
