Lavonia, Georgia Hospitalist Locum Tenens (Day & Night Shifts)

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physicians for a Hospitalist Locum Tenens assignment in Lavonia, Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive program in a community hospital, with both short-term coverage dates and long-term block scheduling available starting in early 2026.

Assignment Highlights

• Contract Type: Locum Tenens Hospitalist
• Coverage Dates:
  • Immediate Need:
    • November 27, 1014
    • December 912, 1819
    • January 12
  • Ongoing Need (Starting Late Jan/Feb 2026):
    • 21 nights per month
    • 14 day shifts per month
• Shift Times: Days 7a7p | Nights 7p7a
• Schedule Flexibility: Block scheduling available

Program & Facility Profile

• Hospital Beds: 50
• ICU: Open ICU model (tele-pulm/CC support)
• Trauma Level: III
• Daytime Staffing: 1 Physician + 1 APP
• Nighttime Staffing: 1 Physician
• Support Specialists: Cardiology, Surgery onsite; tele-pulmonary/critical care
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Scope & Duties

• Rounding + Admissions (57 admissions per shift)
• Average Census: ~15 patients per provider
• ICU management required (vent management, central lines, intubations)
• Procedures required: central line placement, intubation, ventilator management
• Hospitalists run all codes
• APP supervision required

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certification: Internal Medicine (FM pending bylaws confirmation)
• Licensure: Active Georgia medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Skills: Comfortable managing ICU patients, performing procedures, and responding to codes
• Experience: Prior hospitalist practice with procedural competence required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS required
