General Job Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic neurosurgical procedures to the brain, spine and peripheral nerve surgeries, among others.
• Evaluate patients through physical examinations, imaging studies and diagnostic tests to determine the need for surgical intervention.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care.
• Monitor and interpret patient conditions during and after surgery, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.

Minimum Education Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Residency training program in neurosurgery accredited by ACGME or AOA.

License & Certifications

• Board certification in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) or equivalent.
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Arizona.

Experience

• Most locum neurosurgeon positions prefer candidates with at least one year of clinical experience; specific requirements may vary.
