Overview

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Hospitalist physician in Greensboro, NC, paying $180/hour - $185/hour. This is a temporary assignment intended to address staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the care of hospitalized patients, from admission through diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning.
• Ensure continuity of care by collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate with specialists to manage complex cases and provide comprehensive care.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Conduct daily rounds to assess patient progress, update treatment plans and address new concerns.
• Perform procedures such as intubations and central lines at facilities that do not have a designated critical care physician on site.
• Communicate with patients and families to explain diagnoses and treatment plans, and to answer questions.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate medical intervention.
• Collaborate with case managers and social workers to develop safe and effective discharge plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education : Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Residency : Internal medicine or family medicine residency accredited by ACGME or AOA.
• License & Certifications : Board certification in internal or family medicine by ABIM or AOBIM; active and unrestricted NC medical license; current ACLS.
• Experience : Typically at least one year of clinical hospitalist experience is preferred.
• Skills : Strong internal medicine knowledge, decisive in emergencies, excellent communication, ability to manage large patient loads, team collaboration, and adaptability to new environments.
