Talent4Health is seeking a local contract nurse RN Med Surg for a local contract nursing job in Utica, New York.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent experience in MS Stroke Stepdown.
Travel Experience: Required (must be documented on resume).
Licensure: Active New York RN license (verified through NURSYS).
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- NIHSS – Required
EMR Experience: EPIC – Required.

Schedule & Contract Details

Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Floating: Required for other units as needed

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Stroke Stepdown Unit.
Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, COPD, CHF, renal/dialysis, pneumonia, pulmonary issues, and other med/surg conditions.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage feeding tubes/N/G tubes.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to create and implement individualized care plans.
Respond effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
Document all patient care accurately in EPIC EMR.
Float to other units as required by facility needs.
