Full-Time (EEG/EMG) Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled EEG/EMG Technician to perform both electroencephalogram (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) procedures under the supervision of a neurologist or physiatrist. This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment across outpatient clinics, hospital settings, and remote platforms. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to delivering high-quality neurodiagnostic care in alignment with AANEM and ACNS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

EEG Duties:

• Prepare patients and equipment for EEG testing
• Apply electrodes using the International 10–20 system
• Monitor EEG recordings and annotate clinical events in real time
• Support long-term monitoring (LTM), ambulatory EEGs, and video EEGs as needed
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure

EMG/NCS Duties:

• Set up and calibrate EMG and nerve conduction study (NCS) equipment
• Assist physicians with EMG/NCS procedures including electrode placement and patient preparation
• Document waveforms, latency, and amplitude readings accurately
• Maintain and sterilize EMG equipment and supplies

General Duties:

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and records
• Educate patients about procedures and respond to inquiries
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Participate in ongoing education and skills development
• Provide support for other neurodiagnostic modalities as needed

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program or equivalent

Certifications:

• Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) preferred or eligibility required
• CNCT or R.NCS.T. certification preferred for EMG/NCS
• BLS/CPR certification required

Experience:

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in EEG and/or EMG strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of neurophysiology and electrophysiologic testing

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and technical competency
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations

Work Schedule:

• Hybrid role: Mix of in-clinic, hospital-based, and remote documentation/review work
• May include on-call shifts, evenings, or weekends based on departmental needs

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Manual dexterity for electrode application and equipment handling
• Able to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs
