Licensed Mental Health Professional Therapist

Job Summary:
Join a dedicated team providing essential mental health services. As a Licensed Mental Health Professional Therapist, you will conduct diagnostic evaluations and deliver psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups in an integrated health care environment. Your expertise will impact the lives of members facing mental health and dual disorders.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver therapy and counseling for individuals, families, and groups, utilizing a variety of methods including crisis intervention, brief therapy, and supportive therapy.
• Demonstrate clinical competency through evidence-based treatment modalities tailored for different therapy formats.
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations using the latest DSM guidelines to assess and determine the appropriate level of care required.
• Identify the urgency of member needs and recommend suitable therapeutic actions, coordinating care with psychiatrists and other professionals as needed.
• Provide valuable information and resources on mental health conditions and dual diagnoses, leveraging knowledge of community resources.
• Engage in KP-sponsored research, collecting data on behavioral and interpersonal problems to improve treatment approaches.
• Collaborate within interdisciplinary clinical teams to optimize assessment, treatment planning, and decision-making processes.
• Maintain clinical expertise by staying informed on current conditions, interventions, and best practices in mental health services.
• Keep accurate documentation of therapy sessions and engage with social agencies and other relevant parties for holistic member support.
• Adhere to all regulations, guidelines, and standards of practice to ensure high-quality care.
• Perform additional clinical duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience:
  Minimum of three (3) years of post-degree clinical experience.
• Education:
  Mastеr’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
• License, Certification, Registration:
  Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Hawaii) or Mental Health Counselor License (Hawaii) required. Basic Life Support and National Provider Identifier also required at hire.

Additional Requirements:

• Experience with assessment and diagnostic evaluations using the DSM.
• Strong skills in conflict resolution, decision making, teamwork, and communication.
• Proven experience in delivering evidence-based treatments across various settings.
• Ability to write effective treatment plans.
• Successful completion of the credentialing process upon hire is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in documentation per national accreditation standards.
• Background providing behavioral health services in primary care settings.
• Expertise in treating patients with addiction issues.
• Proficient in risk assessment and crisis interventions.

Primary Location: Waipio Medical Offices, Hawaii
Hours Per Week: 40
Shift: Day (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Travel: Yes, up to 25% of the time.
