The Goddard School located in Alpharetta, GA 30022 is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Young Toddler Teacher to join our caring and dedicated team. This position focuses on children aged 12 to 15 months, a vibrant and exploratory stage where curiosity blossoms and first steps lead to new discoveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction Lead engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities using our proprietary Wonder of Learning curriculum to support cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth.
• Classroom Management Create and maintain a warm, structured, and developmentally supportive classroom environment tailored to the needs of early walkers and emerging communicators.
• Family Communication Build strong, trusting relationships with families by providing regular updates on routines, milestones, and learning progress.
• Health and Safety Ensure a safe and healthy environment by following all licensing regulations, supervising both indoor and outdoor activities, and managing daily care routines such as meals and naps.
• Assessment and Documentation Observe and document each child's development to support individualized learning and share insights with families.
• Professional Development Participate in training opportunities to grow professionally and stay up to date with early childhood best practices.
• Team Collaboration Partner with Assistant and Resource Teachers to create a consistent and collaborative teaching environment.
• Behavior Guidance Use gentle, age-appropriate strategies to support toddlers as they learn to communicate, share, and navigate their emotions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
• 12 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
• Completion of state-required pre-service training
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with child care tasks
• A joyful, patient, and nurturing approach to teaching toddlers
