The Airborne Systems Business Area, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently seeks a cleared Lead Systems Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting chance to leverage your experience while supporting the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD initiatives. Your role will involve contributing to our varied portfolio of programs through Model Based Systems Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Capture, decompose, and trace system-level requirements.
• Analyze, define, and refine architectures and interfaces.
• Develop system structure and behavior.
• Create SysML-based models to support Air Force programs.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and internal engineering teams.
• Stay updated on state-of-the-art MBSE practices and technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of experience.
• Experience developing models using SysML.
• Familiarity with at least one Model Based Systems Engineering modeling tool.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong desire for growth and learning of new technologies.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM or Kanban.
• Experience with Atlassian tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
• Experience using Teamwork Cloud.
• Familiarity with Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Exposure to SysML v2.
• Experience working within model and simulation environments for testing support.
• Knowledge of AFSIM.
• Understanding of DoD MOSA Initiatives.
• Experience in unit testing and CI/CD processes.
• Familiarity with Military CONOPS.
• Previous experience working with the DoD.

Pay Range: $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
