As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. As an Lead Applied AI Software Engineer, you will drive work on developing reusable solutions by integrating one or more Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products and technologies to solve a recurring business problem in a differentiated, repeatable manner that accelerates time-to-value and reduces risk for customers. You will lead projects developing repeatable assets that reduce implementation friction, and increase maintainability for critical customer problems and use cases, helping them transform their businesses using GCP AI/ML stack and related technologies. You will help customers to develop, deploy, and manage custom solutions in production using Google Cloud technologies. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Gen AI, Natural Language Processing or specialization in another ML field.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with Kubernetes operations and security.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with Infrastructure as a Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• 5 years of experience with product/solution development with a focus on product capabilities, features, benefits, users, and support needs.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, communicating technical concepts and solutions to non-technical and executive audiences.
