About the Role

Leidos Defense Systems Sector is searching for a Lead RF Systems Engineer to become an integral part of our RF & Intelligence Solutions Department. Our department is focused on comprehending, exploiting, and evaluating foreign threats through radio frequency (RF) design, custom hardware development, algorithm creation, and thorough analysis across a variety of crucial projects for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Prime contractors.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct systems requirements evaluation, perform functional studies, timeline analysis, trade studies, and definition of requirements and interfaces.
• Lead technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance efforts.
• Drive the development of innovative approaches, solutions, and architectures.
• Engage frequently with customers through in-process reviews, client visits, and demonstrations.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline with 8+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of RF transceiver system architecture and cascade analysis.
• Design experience with frequency bands ranging from UHF to Ka.
• Familiarity with software development, integration, testing, and requirements development and verification; experience with modeling and simulation is a plus.
• Background in materials, production, and configuration management.
• Experience with Open Air Range integration.
• Hands-on experience using lab test equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Solid understanding of antenna theory, including types, designs, and beam patterns.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with a minimum of a Secret clearance, and eligible for TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SATCOM Payloads.
• Hands-on experience developing, documenting, and executing test processes and procedures for electronic and electromechanical products.
• Understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts such as matched filtering and coherent integration.
• Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (MATLAB, C++, Python).
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Background working with RF transceivers integrated with FPGA-based systems.
• Experience working with high-speed ADCs and DACs.
• Preference for candidates with TS clearance with SSBI, though not required.

Pay Range: Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
