Lead Quality Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the retail technology space, is seeking a Quality Engineering Lead to join their team. As a Quality Engineering Lead, you will be part of the Engineering and Quality Assurance department, supporting software development teams working on advanced retail systems.

The ideal candidate will have architectural thinking, hands-on technical leadership, and problem-solving skills related to hardware-software integration, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

  Define and lead the QA strategy with a focus on test architecture for complex hardware-software systems.

  n

• n

  Architect scalable approaches for testing hardware-dependent systems, including use of mockups, emulators, and virtualization.

  n

• n

  Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, especially in resolving integration challenges between POS hardware and software.

  n
n
• n

  Collaborate with development teams to "shift left" by catching defects earlier in the SDLC.

  n
n
• n

  Lead efforts to modernize test practices while overcoming constraints that currently force manual validation.

What's Needed?

n
• n

  10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, including 3+ years in a QA or technical leadership role.

  n

• n

  Strong background in retail POS systems with experience in hardware-software integration (e.g., cash drawers, PIN pads, credit card readers).

  n

• n

  Proven ability to design test strategies using emulators, simulators, and service virtualization to bypass hardware limitations.

  n

• n

  Deep technical expertise in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Karate, BDD frameworks), API testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

• n

  Engineering mindset with strong architectural problem-solving abilities and a focus on shifting quality left.
