We are seeking a Lead Network Engineering Specialist to support our initiatives at the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). This role involves overseeing planning, coordination, and execution for major computer network projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop creative solutions for complex operational challenges, taking into account equipment limitations.
• Investigate, assess, and recommend new networking technologies and equipment.
• Design and implement contingency strategies for network software and hardware failures, including during isolated and major outages.
• Employ monitoring and performance analysis tools to troubleshoot issues, assess network performance, and monitor data and protocol activities.
• Work across various network facilities including physical media, protocol stacks, and telecommunications transport facilities.
• Provide metrics and reports to senior management.
• Assist in planning schedules and ensuring adequate personnel coverage for support operations.
• Evaluate resumes for vacancies and play a key role in the interview process.
• Manage team assignments, overseeing customer incidents and requests using ServiceNow ITSM.
• Supervise team performance, offering constructive feedback and documenting progress against goals.
• Review and approve timesheets in line with corporate standards.
• Show flexibility in scheduling; availability for troubleshooting during outages is essential.

Basic Qualifications:

• Significant experience in designing and managing multi-network transport.
• Proficient in configuring and deploying Cisco LAN/WAN equipment and security devices.
• Thorough understanding of network protocols such as VoIP, MPLS, OSPF, and more.
• Experience in supervising team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively under tight deadlines.
• Proven mentoring and leadership skills for a technical team.
• Strong communication capabilities, both oral and written, able to effectively engage with contractors and government officials.
• Meet DoD IAT Level II certification criteria (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA-Security).
• Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Education:

• A bachelor’s degree with 12+ years relevant experience or a master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience is required. Equivalent years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Clearance:

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of government contracts.
• TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required, or TS/SCI with a commitment to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Network+, or equivalents are preferred.

This position is 100% on-site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.

Pay Range: $112,450.00 - $203,275.00

The pay range for this job level serves as a guideline only. Compensation may vary depending on responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity.
