Lead Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role plays a vital part in developing mechanical concepts and designs for functional machines and tooling based on specifications and project data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical concepts and designs utilizing project specifications and part data.
• Employ standard or reference designs to create new, innovative solutions.
• Create detailed designs using both 2D and 3D CAD tools.
• Review and verify mechanical drawings for accuracy.
• Mentor and guide junior designers and detailers in their professional development.
• Contribute to the creation and improvement of departmental design standards.
• Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (B.O.M.) for projects.
• Conduct and document calculations relating to stress and physics as necessary.
• Utilize advanced commercial software and technology in design processes.
• Incorporate materials and stock available for automation projects.
• Organize and manage CAD file systems effectively.
• Adhere to Fori Standards to ensure design accuracy.
• Implement industry engineering standards in the creation of assembly drawings.
• Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic industry standards.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in machine design.
• 10+ years of experience in assembly automation.
• Proven history of developing and improving design standards.
• Experience mentoring junior engineering staff.
• Familiarity with materials and components used in automation design.
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (G.D.T.).
• Knowledge of Fori Standards is advantageous.
• Minimum high school diploma; certification in Inventor 3D preferred.
• Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and experienced in Inventor 3D, Mechanical Desktop, or SolidWorks.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to thrive in an ISO9001:2000 environment.

Pay Range: $30 - $48

Target Bonus: 5.0%
