Lead Java Developer (Onsite)

About the role

Senior Java developer role focused on designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, React, and related technologies as part of the Digital Engineering team, collaborating with stakeholders and other teams.

In this role, you will

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Design and document scalable, secure, and reliable system architectures.
• Set, enforce, and update technical standards, architecture patterns, and coding guidelines across projects.
• Ensure that all systems meet security, compliance, and quality standards required by the organization.
• Communicate with end-users (clients) and interact with technical teams.
• Troubleshoot end-user issues and determine the root cause of the issue.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to end-users.
• Learn end-to-end flow for new applications.
• Monitor applications, handle outages/maintenance/upgrade activities.

What you need to have to be considered

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Involve in various phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and work in a highly dynamic Agile environment.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, React, HTML5, CSS3.
• Design and develop software using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices.
• Hands on AWS experience in EKS, ECS, AWS Lambda, Terraform, AWS Aurora Postgres, AWS logging and monitoring using Datadog, AWS Security groups, AWS MSK (Kafka).
• No-SQL database experience is good to have - DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra etc.

Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position will be between $81,337k to $141,500k depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
