Job Description Summary

This Lead Evaluation Engineering role is for GE Aviation's Large Commercial & AEO Engine Programs. The Evaluation Engine Owner manages development engine(s) and rigs through requirements definition, hardware instrumentation, engine assembly, site integration, & test execution. Evaluation Engineering is the conduit for all assembly, instrumentation, and test requirements. This role will leverage multiple GE systems to facilitate customer requirements to doing organizations. The Evaluation Engineer creates and maintains engine and overall program schedules. This role works inclusively and horizontally with Instrumentation, Design Engineering disciplines, Component Test Sites, and others. The candidate should possess strong communications and horizontal leadership skills in order to help guide other members of the team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  Leads Test and Assembly organizations to high quality and on time delivery of test data to supportprogram test plan targets.

  Understands and approves test and assembly requirements definition. Provides alternate solutions tobest meet the needs of the test and advises on risks associated with chosen plans. Evaluation owner in Test Vehicle Tollgate process.

  Provides engineering support and expertise to ensure engines are assembled and tested to satisfycurrent, issued engineering definition.

  Determines the specific expertise needed to execute on test requirements and coordinates resourcesand schedules to meet requirements.

  Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experienceto execute policy/strategy.

  Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

  Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters toaddress more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependentproduction cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limitedexternal sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

  Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks andresource requirements. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensusaround topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  This role is based in Evendale, OH and is an in person (not a remote) role.

Required Qualifications

• n

  Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  n
n
• n

  At least 3 additional years of experience in an aerospace or engineering position

  n

• n
