POSITION SUMMARY

As a Lab Technologist, you will play a crucial role in performing laboratory tests that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases. We are seeking individuals who are committed to upholding high standards of patient care and are eager to work as part of a collaborative team.

Essential Functions:

• Follow safety protocols as mandated by OSHA and TOSHA regulations.
• Ensure cross-verification of patient identities and specimen labels.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laboratory policies and state regulations.
• Notify healthcare teams promptly about critical lab values.
• Conduct high-complexity testing with precision and detail.
• Assist in the training of new staff and students as required.
• Perform instrument calibrations and quality control checks diligently.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to ensure smooth laboratory operations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field. Must hold a valid State of Tennessee Medical Technologist license.

Experience: Preferred laboratory experience and familiarity with Meditech systems.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of medical laboratory science and testing protocols.
• Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills.
• Adept at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
• Proficient in computer applications relevant to laboratory practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform tasks related to laboratory environments, including exposure to biohazards.
• Capable of lifting and carrying moderate weights (up to 40 pounds).
• Comfortable with prolonged standing and walking, as well as repetitive movements.
• Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate high workload periods.
