The role involves sample testing at various stages in the life cycle of raw materials while ensuring the maintenance of quality documentation and adherence to GMP environmental protocols within a chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct raw material testing and chemical analysis using wet chemistry techniques.

• Analyze samples for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.

• Maintain quality documentation following GMP protocols.

• Utilize analytical instrumentation such as GC-MS for testing.

• Perform Ph testing, viscosity, density, and NIR analysis.

• Ensure accurate batch records and use SAP for data management.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in raw material testing and chemical analysis.

• Experience with analytical instrumentation including GC-MS.

• Strong understanding of GMP protocols and quality documentation.

• Ability to conduct wet chemistry techniques and Ph testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in food, flavor, or chemical manufacturing environments, with pharmaceutical experience considered.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biological Sciences.

• Experience with instrumentation such as Gas Chromatography, NIR, and various wet chemistry techniques.

• Knowledge of specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, and residue on ignition.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and consists of a close-knit team. The lab operates on alternating 12-hour shifts, with flexibility to occasionally work night shifts. The team is small, typically working with 1-2 other people at a time. The schedule alternates between a 48-hour week and a 36-hour week, with a six-week training period on the day shift from 8 am to 4 pm. Breaks are flexible, with a suggested 30-minute break for an eight-hour shift. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maywood, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
