Interventional Radiology Technologist

Summary:

This position for an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist plays a crucial role in supporting various complex and specialized tasks. Responsibilities include operating equipment such as fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography during vascular and neuroradiology procedures. As part of the team, you will help ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow in the Interventional labs, contributing to processes that enhance patient care.

• Perform examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput while adhering to your licenses and competencies.
• Exhibit flexibility by working various shifts and at different campus locations as necessary.
• Ensure proper scanning and storage of completed exams in PACS.
• Act as a PACS Superuser, following downtime procedures and escalating any issues as necessary.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with management or biomedical personnel for follow-ups.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills:

• Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology school or equivalent is required.

Experience:

• Preferred experience includes 1 year in special procedures.
• Basic computer skills are mandatory.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• Radiography (R) by ARRT is mandatory.
• Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT is required within 2 years.
• State Licensure is essential:
• Texas: MRT by TMB
• Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTBE
• New Mexico: RRT by MIRTP NMED
• BLS certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
