Construction/Quality Inspector
As an Inspector, you will perform daily site inspections of excavation, shaft activities, and linear construction within wetlands. You will ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and engineering plans. Your role will involve verifying that excavation practices align with design requirements for tunneling, large shafts, and viaduct construction. Additionally, you will coordinate independent testing and enforce safety standards on-site, adhering to OSHA and other regulatory safety protocols.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct daily inspections of excavation, tunneling, and viaduct construction activities.
- Ensure all practices align with design requirements and project specifications.
- Enforce OSHA and other regulatory safety protocols, identifying potential hazards.
- Inspect materials and equipment for compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of site activities, conditions, and inspection results.
- Provide regular reports on progress and corrective actions taken.
Essential skills include:
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, including excavation, shafts, and viaducts.
- Proven ability to inspect work against specifications and drawings.
- Familiarity with construction near active railroads and wetlands.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of OSHA and regulatory safety protocols.
Additional skills and qualifications include:
- Bridge infrastructure experience.
- Experience with city/state agencies.
- Familiarity with construction near active railroads and wetlands.
Work environment involves:
Collaborating closely with construction supervisors, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth coordination of field operations. The role provides continuous on-site oversight and requires adherence to safety standards in complex environments. This is a Permanent position based out of New York, New York.
The pay range for this position is $120,000.00 - $190,000.00/yr.
