Position Summary:
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications, all under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your work will be based at UNC Eastowne, located at 100 Eastowne Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

Work Schedule:
Rotating schedule Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
No weekends or holidays!

Incentive Program:
This position is eligible for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, which includes $5000 in commitment incentives over two years, with payments distributed after six months, one year, and two years of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and compound various medications including sterile products, oral, topical, and controlled substances under the oversight of a licensed pharmacist.
2. Deliver and exchange medications in patient areas, returning unused medications to the pharmacy.
3. Document pharmaceutical activities accurately, including billing and quality control, using both automated and manual systems.
4. Assist customers with pharmacy service inquiries such as medication delivery and drug information.
5. Operate automated dispensing technologies to ensure the correct medications are provided as per orders from pharmacists and physicians.
6. Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and restocking medications while ensuring accurate expiration date tracking.
7. Assist in training new team members on job-specific functions.
8. Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
9. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through inspections and documentation.

Additional Information:

Education:
No formal education is required, but completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:
Must be registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless currently enrolled in a PharmD program. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA) is also preferred unless enrolled in a PharmD program.

Experience:
Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.

Salary: $17.94 - $25.25 per hour (Hiring Range), offers determined by experience and internal equity.
