Inpatient Behavioral Health Specialist I

FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Nights

Pay: $20.87 - $27.13/hour. Pay is based on your relevant experience.

Summary:

As a key team member under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will play an essential role in fostering a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients with behavioral health needs. This position focuses on milieu management within inpatient, emergency department, or ambulatory settings, ensuring the highest standards of care.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the care team to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Continuously monitor and document patients' coping mechanisms and implement crisis interventions when needed.
• Contribute valuable input and recommendations to the clinical team to assist in developing and executing individualized plans of care.
• Follow established guidelines while also employing critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Work with minimal supervision yet be ready to take appropriate actions as required.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health-related field is preferred.
• One year of related experience in Behavioral Health is required.
• Completion of Advanced CPI within 30 days of hire and annual recertification as per BHA rules and regulations.
• BLS certification must be obtained within three months of hiring.
