Job Description

The Painter/Coater is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paints, coatings, or sealants to metal. This position ensures proper surface preparation, mixing of materials, and application techniques to achieve a high-quality finish and long-lasting protection.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, or blasting as required.

• Mix and apply paints and coatings.

• Inspect surfaces for proper preparation and finish quality.

• Read and interpret technical data sheets, work instructions, and work orders.

• Operate and maintain painting and coating equipment safely and efficiently.

• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Maintain clean and organized work areas.

• Document work completed and report any issues or defects.

• Assist with inventory of paint supplies and request materials when needed.

• Work with other departments to meet production or project deadlines.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of experience in a machine shop or machining facility.

• Proven experience in painting, coating, or a similar role.

• Knowledge of various painting and coating techniques and ability to operate spray guns, paint booths, and related tools.

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.

• Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prefer candidates that have High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) experience.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
