This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What you'll work on:

• Maintenance of the plant's high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products
• Non-repetitive mechanical repairs and troubleshooting
• Mechanical fluid and utility system troubleshooting
• Fabrication, machining and welding
• Installation or rearrangement of equipment
• Completion of work documentation

You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Understanding of mechanical systems
• Mechanical and spatial aptitude
• Good math and writing skills
• Knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems as well as proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease

Preferred qualifications:

• Welding certification preferred
• Backflow prevention certification preferred

The base pay for this position is $20.60 $41.20/hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
