Join our dynamic team as an Accounting Associate where you will play a vital role in managing essential financial processes. You will handle month-end close procedures, manage accounts payable and employee expenses, conduct monthly financial analysis, and support compliance and audit functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close processes accurately and efficiently.
• Manage accounts payable and employee expenses to ensure timely processing.
• Conduct monthly financial analysis and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Prepare journal entries, conduct bank reconciliations, and manage balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee the travel and expense (T&E) system to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Ensure SOX compliance and conduct thorough risk assessments.
• Assist with external audit requests and participate in ad hoc projects as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with accounts payable and journal entries.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and SOX compliance standards.
• Experience working with NetSuite.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience in a relevant role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience in a SaaS start-up environment is highly desirable.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Background in a start-up or high-growth environment.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment, with office presence required on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Union Square. You will have the opportunity to work in a rapidly expanding fintech start-up, supporting strategic priorities and gaining exposure to the C-suite. The dress code is business casual.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
