Position: People & Culture Partner (HR Business Partner)
Department: People and Culture
Reports To: Senior Director of Human Resources (People & Culture)
Direct Reports: NA
Location: Colorado Corp Office
FLSA Status: Exempt
Compensation : $80,000 -$95,000 Annually, Plus Bonus Potential!

PURPOSE
The People & Culture Partner (PCP) drives business results by aligning People strategies with field operations. As a trusted advisor to field leadership, the PCP consults on performance management, employee relations, talent planning, engagement and leadership development. This role acts as a strategic partner and cultural ambassador, enabling the business to scale and thrive through its people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Business Partnership
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to field leadership (VP of Ops, Regional Directors, DMs, GMs), embedding HR strategies into business planning and operational execution.
  • Use data, field insights, insight to diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and influence decisions that align with business goals and people outcomes.
  • Attend business planning meetings to embed HR strategy into operational execution.
  • Train and support field leaders in applying the framework to feedback, development plans, and performance management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with People Leadership, Legal, Loss Prevention and Corporate teams to ensure effective execution of people strategies and mitigate risk.
Talent Strategy & Development
  • Co-lead talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership pipeline development with District Managers and Operations Leadership.
  • Partner with leaders to proactively address workforce planning, internal mobility, and leadership pipeline development.
  • Identify skill and leadership gaps; support development with targeted coaching, feedback, and HR-related training.
  • Facilitate leadership and HR-related training as needed.
  • Facilitate VASA Core 4 (Belief in VASA, Hard Working, High Standards, Gives Energy) coaching and performance conversations, using the framework to guide talent development and accountability.
Performance Management
  • Guide leaders in setting expectations, providing effective feedback, and managing performance challenges.
  • Support the execution of performance improvement plans (PIPs), documentation, and corrective actions with objectivity and timeliness.
  • Apply the VASA Core 4 characteristics consistently when coaching leaders and evaluating performance
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Provide expert guidance on sensitive employee relations issues, ensuring consistency and compliance with legal and internal policies.
  • Lead or support investigations (harassment, discrimination, EEOC, DOL, misconduct), partnering with Legal as needed.
  • Promote a consistent and legally compliant employee experience across markets.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and field leaders on hiring strategy, workforce planning, and leadership forecasting.
  • Participate in the selection and assessment of GM and DM candidates to ensure cultural and capability alignment.
  • Support hiring efforts during new club openings and market expansions.
  • Co-Facilitate assimilation meeting for new club leaders (GMs, AGMs).
  • Provide training and coaching to new leaders on effective hiring and selection practices, with a focus on identifying candidates who align with VASA's culture and values.
Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management
  • Gather and analyze feedback loops and data insights from the field to influence HR programs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead or support organizational initiatives with a focus on communication, adoption, and impact on people.
  • Ensure alignment of People initiatives with broader business and cultural goals.
Culture and Engagement
  • Champion an inclusive, high-performance culture anchored in the VASA Core 4.
  • Partner with District Managers to review and interpret ongoing engagement data and exit data to improve morale, retention, and employee experience.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and recognition rooted in the VASA Core 4.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • 4-7 years of HR experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in an HR related field or business management required
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word. Intermediate experience with Excel using summations, pivot tables, and v-look up functions.
  • Knowledge of effective HR practices, methods and processes in all areas including recruiting and selection, compensation and benefits, employment law and employee relations, performance management, and training and development.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and requirements related to HR including ERISA, EEO, LOAs, ADA, Worker's Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour and others.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic working relationships with leaders and act as a strategic partner on all people related decisions.
  • Thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining focus on delivering strategic objectives and executing day to day requirements.
  • Works independently setting own priorities and objectives with supervisory consultation.
  • Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and delegating effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired results.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidentiality information

  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of the organization (ex: frontline team member, district manager, and Corporate Director/VP)
  • Strong abilities in problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to effectively present to and facilitate both large and small groups.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is typically done in a club with varying hours based on business needs.
  • While performing the club duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to support the needs of the business, including frequent extended workdays, weekends and holidays may be required.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and working in various environments.
  • Talking : Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Physical Strength : Non-Sedentary work, standing and walking most of the time. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Reasoning Ability : Ability to deal with a variety of variables under limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions and relay instructions to clients
  • Attendance : This is an essential duty of the position. Employees must work regularly scheduled shifts during business hours to assist members and sell services in-person.
