We are currently seeking a reliable and caring Hospice Aide to deliver essential personal care and emotional support to patients wherever they may reside—be it a private home, assisted living facility, or inpatient unit. Compensation varies within the provided salary range based on factors including location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, and department equity. Gentiva offers a comprehensive benefits package, with base pay being just one part of it.

Salary Range: $20.00/hour - $22.00/hour

Your Responsibilities as a Hospice Aide:

• Deliver direct personal care to terminally ill patients
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility—utilizing walkers and wheelchairs
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping
• Observe and report changes in the patient's physical or mental condition
• Provide emotional and psychological support to both patients and families
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits
• Participate in team meetings and Quality Improvement (QI) activities
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety measures at all times

Qualifications and Skills:

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required)
• Current CPR certification (Required)
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required)
• Preferred: Six (6) months or more of direct patient care experience
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments
• Demonstrated compassion and patience, with the ability to manage emotional situations
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs

Preferred Background (Not Required):

• Experience in home health, hospice, palliative care, or oncology
• Prior experience in hospital settings (nursing, ICU, geriatrics, etc.)
• Exposure to end-of-life care, wound care, or admissions support
