Histology Grossing Technologist Trainee

We are seeking Histology Professionals to join the LabCorp team where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory services. Come work in our Pathology laboratory located in Raritan NJ alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity, and respect for the patient.

Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 4:30am-1:00 PM

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides

• Specialize in the accurate gross description and dissection of surgical specimens

• Diagram pertinent gross specimens as necessary

• Prepare sections of human tissue for pathologist diagnostic study

• Operate laboratory instruments to properly display specimens

• Perform equipment maintenance as needed

• Record equipment log data in an accurate and timely manner

• Comply with applicable safety procedures and protocol

• Effectively communicate with histology team members

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements

• Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is not required

• Prior experience performing histology grossing duties is preferred

• Additional experience performing histology tasks is a plus

• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus

• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
