Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Locums - NP/PA Hematology/Oncology Opening in Lafayette, Indiana

Start Date:

• December/January 2026

Outpatient Clinic Schedule:

• Monday-Friday

• 36 hours of patient care/ambulatory clinic coverage per week

• Flexible scheduling between 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Hospital Call Coverage:

• Call rotation every 4th or 5th week

• One full week at a time

• Weekday call: new consults only

• Weekend call: rounding only

Practice Model:

• Primary focus on outpatient care

• On-call provider handles new consults at the hospital

• Nurse Practitioners round on existing patients

• New consults are assigned to the on-call provider once evaluated

• When not on call, role is 100% clinic

Patient Mix:

• 70% Oncology / 30% Hematology (primarily benign)

• Outpatient vs. inpatient: 80% / 20%

• 5-6 phone consults per week

• 2-3 patients seen during call

• Clinic patients: 15-18 per shift

• Assigned/Unassigned patients

• 30-minute call response time required

Additional Details:

• Three oncologists on staff

• Facility will consider non-licensed candidates (must obtain license by April)

• Trauma Level III

• EMR: Cerner

Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible - Required

• Active Indiana or Compact license - Accepted

• BLS - Required
