Position Summary

This is a position involving the safe and efficient diagnosis and repair of mobile equipment including bulldozers, loaders, haul trucks, excavators, and other quarry equipment. Has demonstrated complete proficiency in repair and maintenance of equipment through experience, on the job performance, and documented OEM training. A technician 1 will be proficient in diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical, power train, air conditioning, and air brake systems. Has the ability to read and understand schematics and/or blueprints relevant to their duties.

Compensation and Company Benefits

• $32.00 to $36.00 an hour

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using proper tools and equipment
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
• Diagnose faults using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers, gauges, or other tools
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, filters, taking oil samples, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment

Requirements

• Heavy equipment technical schooling (associates degree a minimum)
• Continuous education a plus (certificates required)
• Minimum of 5 plus years' experience in Heavy Equipment maintenance and repair
