Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Scraper Operator to perform grading and leveling tasks using heavy equipment. This role involves cutting to grade, moving earth efficiently, and preparing the site for the finish dozer team to complete fine grading operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate MTS 3630 wheeled or track scrapers , MTS 745 with pan , and CAT 627/637 scrapers for rough grading.

• Conduct pre-shift and end-of-day equipment inspections; report any issues promptly.

• Manage cut and fill operations to achieve proper grade and site specifications.

• Work scheduled shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday , with occasional extended shifts up to 14 hours as needed.

• Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety standards and company protocols.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating scrapers in commercial construction, with a focus on mass grading .

• Proficiency with MTS and CAT equipment for rough grading.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with paddle wheel operations is a plus.

• Willingness to travel and work flexible or extended hours.

• Ability to handle the physical demands of operating heavy machinery in rugged conditions.

Work Environment

This position is based on a civil construction site in Lebanon, IN , involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions, from hot, humid summers to cold, snowy winters. The site is active and fast-paced, requiring strong communication and situational awareness. Compliance with OSHA standards and site conduct policies is mandatory.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
