Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with 1-2 years of experience to join our dynamic team in Maine. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and other heavy equipment. While an active CDL is not required, it is advantageous and may result in higher pay. The position operates on a Monday-Friday, 1st shift basis, with a $3.00 per hour shift differential for night shift work. Experience working in dealerships with a focus on diagnostics and preventative maintenance is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair trucks and heavy equipment.
• Conduct diagnostics and preventative maintenance on a daily basis.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to repair diesel engines and hydraulics.
• Perform repair work on Caterpillar and other heavy equipment.
• Drive trucks when necessary, if possessing a CDL.

Essential Skills:

• 2-3 years of mechanic experience.
• 1-2 years of in-shop mechanic work.
• Experience with diesel engines and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and hydraulics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• CDL A license is a plus.
• Experience in dealership environments is beneficial.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment is advantageous.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bath, Maine. (Other locations available as well)

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $52.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
