Heavy Civil Project Engineer

Position: Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction

Overview:

We are looking for experienced Project Engineers with a strong background in heavy civil construction. This role is ideal for professionals with at least 5 years of experience who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about delivering high-impact infrastructure projects. The work spans a variety of complex and rewarding project types, including highways, bridges, deep foundations, marine construction, water and wastewater treatment plants, and industrial facilities.

What You'll Do:

• Lead coordination and tracking of all project submittals to ensure efficient delivery
• Create construction designs such as form and pour drawings, major lift/pick plans, and layout drawings for piping, conduit, and equipment
• Interpret technical data, including survey reports and blueprints, to inform project planning and execution
• Monitor job performance and costs in collaboration with field teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Conduct site inspections to assess progress and compliance with safety and quality standards
• Support project documentation including cost reporting and claims tracking
• Help drive continuous improvement and best practices across construction sites

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
• Ability to adapt to evolving schedules and shifting project priorities
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, QA/QC practices, and construction equipment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally (typically within 1–2 hours)

Preferred (Not Required):

• OSHA 10-Hour Certification
• Experience with marine construction
