Healthcare Medical Assistant

A thriving healthcare network is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join their team at a facility in Brooklyn. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals eager to support clinical services and assist with administrative tasks while providing excellent patient care.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8am to 5pm-6pm
• Setting: Clinic

Responsibilities:

• Warmly welcome and engage with patients and guests.
• Efficiently answer phones and accurately schedule patient appointments in the electronic system.
• Check-in patients, prepare necessary forms, and assist with checkout processes.
• Take complete and accurate messages from phone communications.
• Collect payments and provide patients with receipts for charges and co-payments.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Support the care team in providing direct patient care.
• Perform a variety of patient care functions tailored to specific age groups.
• Accurately collect, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
• Restock examination and treatment rooms, ensuring inventory is maintained daily.
• Complete all necessary documentation promptly and accurately.
• Assist with various medical procedures as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in an Ambulatory Care setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• NYS Medical Assistant certification.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) systems.

Desired Skills:

• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in an Ambulatory Care setting.
• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree.
• Familiarity with Epic EMRs.
