Health, Safety & Quality Engineer

Summary

The Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) Engineer is responsible for supporting organizational quality and compliance initiatives, with a focus on environmental, health, and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, develops and implements quality systems, and promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The position also involves collaborating across departments to maintain product and service standards, safeguard employees, and meet customer expectations.

Essential Job Duties

  Develop, implement, and monitor QHSE policies, programs, and initiatives.

  Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, industry standards, and customer requirements (e.g., ISO standards).

  Maintain internal processes that support employee health and safety.

• n

  Provide training, coaching, and mentoring in QHSE best practices.

• n

  Establish systems for communication, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement.

• n

  Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations to prevent safety and quality issues.

  n

• n

  Serve as primary contact for audits and inquiries.

  n
n
• n

  Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and identify improvement opportunities.

• n

  Report system performance and recommend improvements to senior leadership.

  n
n
• n

  Foster awareness of quality, safety, and compliance requirements across the organization.

  n

• n

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process and performance improvements.

  n
n
• n

  Supervise and direct QHSE team members or coordinators as required.

  n
n

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

• n

  Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  n
n
• n

  OSHA 30-hr certification (or ability to complete within 6 months).

  n

• n

  5+ years of experience in a production, operations, or industrial setting.

  n
n
• n

  Experience leading ISO certification initiatives (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or equivalent).

  n

• n

  Familiarity with auditing, inspection methods, and risk management processes.

  n
n
• n

  Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality management standards.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

• n

  Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• n

  Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

  n
n
• n

  Proven ability to influence and motivate employees, managers, and external partners.

• n

  Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• n

  Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
