This full-time position requires an 8-hour commitment, Monday to Friday, with regular business hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with 4 weeks of comprehensive on-the-job training provided to align with your availability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed medical record documentation quality reviews to ensure completeness.
- Understand reimbursement issues affecting timely chart completion and ensure adherence to standards from governing agencies such as the Joint Commission and Medicare.
- Consistently meet role-specific accuracy and quality standards.
- Accurately log and update deficiencies in our system with a minimum 95% accuracy rate.
- Manage health information to guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and security of patient data.
- Facilitate process improvements and pursue innovative suggestions.
- Ensure all job responsibilities align with required turnaround times for workflow processes.
- Promptly notify supervisors of any tasks that cannot be completed before the end of your shift.
- Make informed decisions using factual and objective data or seek expertise from coordinators as necessary.
- Independently exercise judgment when coordinators are not available and take responsibility for those decisions.
- Organize and maintain health information records effectively.
- Review both electronic and pre-electronic medical records, verifying accuracy and uniqueness.
- Handle requests for documentation and information proficiently.
- Locate, log, retrieve, file, and deliver medical records across various mediums and systems.
- Distribute necessary reports and results.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least 1 year of experience in Health Information Management, clinical, or revenue cycle roles within healthcare.
- Proficiency with computers and Windows PC applications; capable of learning complex software systems quickly.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for document creation and email management.
- Ability to work full time onsite at N17W24100 Riverwood Dr, Waukesha, WI 53188.
- Availability for scheduled work hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with medical terminology.
- 1+ years of experience specifically in Health Information Management.
Soft Skills:
- Strong critical thinking abilities.
- Aptitude for analyzing detailed information.
- Capability to use various communication tools, including computers, telephones, and fax machines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with colleagues and guests.
- Ability to manage physical tasks, such as moving stacks of charts and reports as necessary.
- Willingness to assist in different departments as needed.
- Flexible to cross-train in related tasks.
Compensation for this role ranges from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour, depending on various factors such as local labor markets and individual qualifications.
