Hardware Development Engineer (EE)

Our client, a global leader in design and manufacturing industrial controls, is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to join their team. As a Hardware Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Development and Testing Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with evaluating reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plans, designs and developing electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, and/or optical systems.

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Pay: $40-$45/hr plus OT, benefits

Key Responsibilities

Products with ARM based processors, FPGAs

Printed circuit design

Printed circuit level, i.e., power supply rails, ripple, voltage levels, timing of IC and signal inputs/outputs, rise/fall times, frequency. Functional level, EMC, environmental testing

50/50, there is also documentation, such as writing design specifications for the product, reviewing component datasheets, writing test plans, choosing new components due to obsolescence, etc.

Requirements

Oscilloscopes (Keysight), multimeters (Fluke), probes, JTAG interface, helpful to understand EMC equipment for conducted immunity/emissions, electrostatic discharge, radiated emissions/immunity, shock and vibration, thermal chambers, etc.

Preferred Mentor Graphics Xpedition but Altium or others is beneficial
