Overview

At Target, Guest Advocates help all families discover the joy of everyday life by delivering a welcoming, helpful, and efficient guest experience across store and digital services. This role supports checkout operations, guest services, and store cleanliness while promoting Target Loyalty programs and services.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Assist guests to solve their specific needs and respond to inquiries in a welcoming manner.
• Inform guests about current promotions, store activities, and events.
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve guest experience.
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
• Promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-up as needed.
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards and best practices.
• Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
• Explain and demonstrate features of the Target App (including Wallet) and assist with enrollment.
• Direct guests to Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and online ordering; assist with enrollment and usage.
• Handle returns following store policies; work with leaders to resolve guest needs.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards; work in a safe manner at all times.
• Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive Up, and related duties in a compliant manner (including relevant laws).
• All other duties based on business needs.

Physical and Schedule Requirements

• Accurately handle checkout operations and cashier duties as needed.
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally.
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance required.
• Must be mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
