Job Title: GSE Mechanic

Job Description

Join a team that values expertise in mechanical testing and troubleshooting. As a GSE Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance repairs on Ground Support Equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment such as baggage carts and deicing units.

Responsibilities

  Perform light and heavy repairs on Ground Support Equipment.

  Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues including diesel, gas, and LP engines.

• n

  Troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical systems.

  n

• n

  Read and interpret electrical schematics.

  n
n
• n

  Repair hydraulic systems and read hydraulic flow schematics.

  n
n
• n

  Utilize computer software for diagnosing Powertrain Management Systems.

  n
n
• n

  Repair 80 and 48 volt DC systems.

  n
n
• n

  Troubleshoot and repair Airstart systems.

  n
n
• n

  Engage in ongoing training to enhance equipment knowledge.

  n
n
• n

  Maintain required productivity levels.

  n
n
• n

  Accurately complete vehicle repair orders in a timely manner.

  n
n

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Minimum of 2+ years experience in mechanical testing and troubleshooting.

  n

• n

  Proficiency in reading schematics.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting.

  n
n
• n

  Possession of a basic set of tools.

  n
n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• n

  Previous GSE experience preferred.

  n

• n

  Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines with 3 years preferred experience.

• n

  Valid Driver's License.

  n
n
• n

  Vocational training certificate or equivalent work experience.

  n

• n

  Good oral and written communication skills.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

• n

  Capability to attain an Airport issued ID badge

Work Environment

Work in a heated hangar, ensuring comfort during winter, with large fans providing cooling in the summer. Collaborate with seven mechanics per shift, and occasionally work at an off-site location for larger projects such as full vehicle overhauls. This environment supports a dynamic and collaborative work atmosphere.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
