Grounding Analysis Intern

As a Summer Intern at Black & Veatch in Overland Park, Kansas, you will help address some of the world's most pressing infrastructure challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects to meet our clients' needs and contribute to the growth and success of Black & Veatch. You will be assigned to a functional area in Grounding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the development and documentation of grounding calculations per industry standards, best practices, and client requirements
• Assist with the development of computer models used for detailed grounding calculations (CDEGS, WinIGS, etc.).
• Collaborate with other disciplines and schedule project deliverables.
• Organize and evaluate data, utilizing computer modeling to analyze systems.
• Organize project materials, references, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant coursework or knowledge in Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
• Understanding of engineering design principles and design guides.
• Problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and the ability to build relationships.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Minimum Qualifications:

• No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Electrical Engineering program. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment:

This intern position is expected to be in the office on a full-time basis.
