Grinder Operator

We are seeking a skilled Grinder Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating finish grinding machines, ensuring precision and quality in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate finish grinding machines.
• Select specific speeds and feeds based on the materials being used.
• Dress the grinding wheels.
• Conduct quality inspections of dimensions and tolerances.
• Detect any material defects and notify the supervisor.

Essential Skills

• Experience with grinder and surface grinding.
• Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.
• Strong skills in quality control and machine operation.
• Experience with CNC lathe and CNC mill.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Operator.
• Proficiency in surface grinding.
• Skilled in using micrometers and calipers.

Work Environment

The work environment is a production setting where you will primarily work alone in a climate-controlled facility. There are openings on both the 1st shift (5:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday-Thursday and 5:30 AM - 9:30 AM on Fridays) and the 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 12:15 AM, Monday-Thursday and 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Fridays, with mandatory additional hours as needed).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
