Metal Fabrication Technician

Join our team as a Metal Fabrication Technician, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. You will inspect machinery and workpieces to ensure compliance with specifications, reducing malfunctions and production losses. Your expertise in operating and maintaining machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, will be essential in producing high-quality metal workpieces.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machinery and workpieces to ensure they comply with specifications and reduce malfunctions.
• Dress grinding wheels according to specifications to maintain peak machine performance.
• Stop machines upon discovering a problem and make quick adjustments to minimize downtime.
• Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces and removing any defective pieces.
• Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to meet prescribed specifications.
• Finish products by hand using hand tools for appropriate surface finishes.
• Perform basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Schedule repairs and perform basic repairs, including replacing worn or broken parts.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and pneumatic equipment.
• Experience in fabrication and deburring techniques.
• Ability to operate air tools, grinders, and assembly equipment.

Work Environment

Join a team working in a climate-controlled facility with state-of-the-art equipment. The work schedule is on the 1st shift, Monday to Thursday, with four 10-hour days starting at either 4 am, 5 am, or 6 am. Minimal overtime is required on Fridays.

This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41000.00 - $57000.00/yr.
