Job Description
We are currently seeking a Sr Level Geologist in Denver Colorado to support a wide variety of environmental projects. The preferred candidate will have extensive field experience working at Superfund and other contaminated sites, running complex field programs, preparing planning documents and preparing reports for environmental characterization and remediation projects. As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
- Performing surface and subsurface soil sampling, rock classification, monitoring well installation, oversight of drilling contractors, groundwater sampling, and hydraulic testing to support environmental projects.
- Performing geologic evaluations, and/or hydrogeological investigations; describing geologic conditions, and preparing logs, contour plots and cross-section diagrams.
- Reviewing draft assessments and calculations with respect to federal, state and local regulations.
- Working on a variety of assignments, which may include work plans, field studies, research investigations, data interpretation and evaluation, and report preparation.
- Ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all assessments.
- Independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Using professional judgment and knowledge of principles/techniques in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Learning task management techniques and the CDM Smith management system.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline. Registration as a licensed Professional Geologist, as certified by ASBOG. 10 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.

Skills and Abilities
Experience and demonstrated ability to lead field programs at contaminated sites. Experience working with commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent writing and communication skills in English. Experience coordinating with subcontractors and directing junior staff for field programs at contaminated sites. Proven experience in data evaluation and report preparation for environmental assessment, remediation, field investigations, and/or construction oversight activities. Experience with EPA CERCLA, EPA RCRA, EPA TSCA PCB regulations.

The pay range for this position is listed above. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for this position based on the geographic location assigned to the position. Please note that pay ranges vary based on geographic location. In addition to geographic location, the company considers several other factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, the candidate's work experience, education/training and key skills.
Additional Compensation
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
