General Maintenance Supervisor

The General Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the hotels maintenance department, ensuring that all building systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained in excellent condition. This role supports the Director of Engineering by leading a small team of maintenance technicians and coordinating with all departments to deliver a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for guests and associates.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and schedule the maintenance team to ensure timely and efficient completion of daily tasks.

• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.

• Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests to ensure minimal disruption.

• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces; identify and resolve maintenance needs.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work orders, equipment logs, and inventory.

• Assist with vendor management, including scheduling service calls and ensuring work meets brand and safety standards.

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and Pyramid Global Hospitality policies.

• Support energy conservation and sustainability efforts.

• Serve as acting lead in the absence of the Director of Engineering.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

• Experience: 3+ years of maintenance experience in hospitality, facilities, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.

• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

• Certifications: EPA Universal Certification preferred; additional trade licenses a plus.

• Other Requirements:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform hands-on repairs.

Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $20.00/Hr. - $28.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
