Furnace Operator

As a Mechanical Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating and maintaining high productivity melting furnaces.

You will work on a monthly swing shift between 1st and 3rd (12-hour shifts) from 7 am to 7 pm and 7 pm to 7 am, following a 2-2-3-3 schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain high productivity melting furnaces.
• Interpret and control furnace conditions to ensure product consistency with customer specifications and quality standards.
• Operate equipment such as tow motors, overhead cranes, welders, and hoists.
• Conduct preventive and general maintenance on furnace hardware.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system abnormalities and perform necessary maintenance.
• Use hand tools like grinders, saws, and drill presses to prepare ingots for the next process step.
• Adhere to all standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with safety and quality processes.

Essential Skills:

• Experience with industrial furnace/heat treat/boiler operation.
• Mechanical maintenance skills.
• Proficiency in operating overhead cranes.
• Experience in heavy industrial machine operation.
• High school diploma/GED.
• General maintenance on equipment or experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Comfortable working in high, precarious places and small or confined spaces.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance if no furnace experience.
• Experience in furnace operations is a plus.

Work Environment:

This is a direct placement position. You will work on a monthly swing shift between 1st and 3rd, with 12-hour shifts. Initially, training will be on the 1st shift for the first 1-2 months (Monday to Friday, 7 am - 3 pm). Once assigned to a permanent crew, you will work one month of 7 am-7 pm, then the next month 7 pm-7 am, following a 2-2-3-3 schedule. Compensation is $25-$28/hr, dependent on experience. Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
