POSITION SUMMARY

As a Licensed Practical Nurse in Cardiac Telemetry, you will play a crucial role in delivering timely and accurate nursing care to our patients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education/Training:

1. Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
2. Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
3. BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience: Experience in patient care delivery.

Skills and Equipment Training: Ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, applying nursing knowledge flexibly in various situations. Familiarity with equipment including Order Entry Computer System, Telemetry, and Omnicell Medication System.

Physical Environment: A medical/surgical unit catering to patients ranging from infants to seniors.

Physical Effort:

1. Requires communication in English, both oral and written.
2. Prolonged standing and ability to work for up to twelve hours daily.
3. Must be able to push/pull objects up to 175 lbs.
4. Ability to lift and assist transferring patients up to 250 lbs with help.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Collects patient data accurately and promptly during admission using observational skills and effective communication.
2. Revises and individualizes patient care plans based on identified needs and nursing diagnoses.
3. Participates in patient education, addressing discharge and post-discharge needs appropriately.
4. Operates independently with treatments and equipment, adhering to hospital policies and maintaining competency.
5. Safely handles, transports, and administers medications as per hospital procedures.
6. Monitors patient condition, assesses response to treatment, and adjusts care plans as necessary.
7. Documents all actions accurately and in a timely manner.
8. Creates a healing environment for patients and families.
9. Ensures compliance with position-specific qualifications.
10. Facilitates staff development and communication responsibilities.
11. Maintains a professional appearance and workspace, reflecting the importance of cleanliness and safety.
