Position Summary

Pharmacy technicians play a critical role in supporting pharmacists by preparing and distributing medications while adhering to safety and legal standards. Your contributions will foster a team-based environment dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college courses preferred.
• Valid state pharmacy technician registration.
• Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or proof of certification in progress.
• Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with health care environments is advantageous.

Equipment and Skills

Proficiency with pharmacy-related technology is necessary, including:

• Meditech Pharmacy Module
• Medication pre-packing and IV equipment
• Automated dispensing systems
• Standard office equipment such as printers and FAX machines

Physical and Occupational Requirements

Work primarily within the hospital pharmacy and navigate various medication storage areas. You will be expected to maintain concentration in a high-stress environment and demonstrate physical stamina for tasks requiring standing, lifting, and movement of equipment.

Potential hazards include exposure to hazardous substances and the need to follow safety protocols to prevent injuries.
