Radiologic Technologist
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Details: Full-time (36 hours), 7am - 7pm, some weekends. Days vary. Holiday hours are 9am - 4pm.

As a Radiology Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our imaging team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
- Obtaining and recording patient information; vital signs, height, weight, allergies, current medications, medical history, and chief complaint, etc.
- Demonstrating knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Scheduling patients for diagnostic testing and follow up as appropriate to ensure completion of testing.
- Communicating test results to patients and establishing plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the Provider.
- Documenting patient plan(s) of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
- Preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments and maintaining equipment; stocking patient exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization, and disposing of contaminated items according to protocol.
- Administering ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
- Ensuring safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
- Performing clinical diagnostic x-rays and preparing completed studies for provider review.
- Performing all required processor and equipment maintenance and quality control processes.
- Preparing patients for radiologic procedures and protecting patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.
- Taking X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
- Positioning patients and taking X-ray of specific parts of the patients body as requested by the physician.
- Processing film and checking X-ray for clarity of image; retake when necessary.
- Distributing X-ray to appropriate medical staff.
You may also be required to:
- Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Per Provider request, may perform routine tests including but not limited to EKGs, hearing and vision screens.
Required Qualifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification
- Radiologic technologist license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform the function of an MA in a clinic or InstaCare setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- 2 years of clinical experience in radiologic technology.
Physical Requirements:
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
