Food Service Director - Retail Dining at Aramark is a management role responsible for developing and executing dining solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. This position oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu.

Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Compensation and Benefits

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, engage and develop teams to maximize contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching and managing performance
• Ensure food services connect to the Executional Framework
• Coach employees by creating a shared understanding of goals and execution
• Reward and recognize employees
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations
• Identify client needs and communicate operational progress
• Adopt Aramark processes and systems
• Build revenue and manage budget, including cost controls for food, beverage and labor
• Ensure completion and maintenance of P&L statements
• Achieve food and labor targets; manage resources to ensure quality within budget
• Implement Aramark agenda for labor and food initiatives; create value through efficient operations and profit management
• Comply with Operational Excellence fundamentals related to food and labor
• Direct and oversee operations related to production, distribution and food service
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment and comply with all policies and regulations
• Establish and maintain systems for ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving food; manage menu planning and development
• Develop operational forecasts and explain variances; manage component accounting functions
• Ensure sanitation and safety requirements are met
• Coordinate and supervise unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality, cost control, labor management and training
• Recruit, hire, develop and retain frontline team
• Conduct periodic inventory and maintain records to comply with ARAMARK, government and accrediting standards
• Interact with Client Management and maintain effective client relationships at all levels
• May participate in sales process and contract negotiations
• Identify opportunities to implement new products and services to support sales growth and client retention
• Manage front of house for dining operation (Cafeteria/Residential Dining Facility)
• Develop and implement food service plans aligned with client mission and vision, including sustainable practices

Qualifications

• Requires at least 4 years of experience
• Requires at least 1-3 years of management experience
• Previous experience in food service
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to develop and maintain effective client relationships
• Excellent customer service using Aramark’s standard model
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments for a unified dining experience
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb
• Ability to stand for extended periods
